THE SERIES

When young American Cody Fischer returns from Central Africa with a harrowing story of captivity and survival, he is transformed into the face of a global humanitarian movement. At the heart of his account is the Lord of War, a shadowy figure blamed for abducting children and turning them into soldiers.

Investigative journalist Alex Saidi is one of the few people who questions the story. Her search leads her toward General Muenda, the Congolese man the movement has publicly identified as the Lord of War - and toward a much larger struggle over cobalt, foreign commercial interests, political influence, and control of the narrative.

Across eight episodes, Cody, Alex, and Muenda become trapped in three different versions of the same story as myth becomes movement, movement becomes power, and the truth becomes increasingly dangerous.
